Unconditional Love is Not Passive – It is Fearlessly Resolute

Truth about Unconditional Love - what does it look and act like?

Something that keeps making its way back to me to truly assimilate into wisdom the past few years is the ramifications of unconditional love and how to fully understand what it would look and act like. One teaching in particular that has perpetually baffled me is Jesus’ demonstration of tipping over the tax collectors tables and casting them out of the temple. Another being Krishna’s command for the warrior Arjuna in the Bhagavad-Gita, to fight and kill his ‘enemies’ and extended family. As far as our own lives, I have often wondered when is it appropriate to stand up for ourselves, …

Call to Greatness

Call to Greatness - Life without Limitations

As an elementary teacher, I feel my current service is to inspire and ignite the passion for learning and exploration of the endless, exciting possibilities of life. Yesterday I had an unusually profound day with my students; drawing their attention to the fact that history is being made as we speak, in this very moment choices and potentials for our lives are unfolding and being written in time. As they stared at me captivated and perhaps even mind-blown at the idea that in a hundred or thousand years other people would be studying us just as we were studying those before …

Accepting Responsibility – Remembering Who We Are

Remember Who We Are - Living Without Limitations

With the Transcending the Themes of Consciousness series completed I’d like to share some more pragmatic wisdom with you. Today we’ll elaborate on the power of the mind and accepting the realization that we are creating our life experience in every moment through our perceptions. The biggest key to a truly successful (happy and fulfilled) and abundant life is to take responsibility for every moment and deny all temptations to play victim. Remember, the ego’s favorite tactic for keeping us powerless is dwelling on victimization. Anytime victimization arises or any sense of lack, separation, fear, doubt, or disbelief we must …

The Mountain of Enlightenment – Transcending Duality and the Ego Self (Part 3/3)

Transcending Duality and the Ego Self

Bypassing Temptation    When the sense of self has evolved to the recognition and embrace of the nonattached observer/witness, the level of conscious awareness has reached an extremely expanded state and therefore is completely immersed in unconditional love. This is because from this level of awareness there is only perfection abounding all around. However, it is worth noting that the temptations of ‘co-creator’ and manipulating the power of ‘advanced’ consciousness is seducing to the Luciferic (sophisticated, selfish ego) realms of force and control and represents many leaders of the world, false gurus, and endless media programming that seek to enslave the …

Transcending the Themes of Consciousness: The Mind (Part 1/3)

Self-Realization - Transcending the Mind's prison

Transcending the Mind Although seeking liberation through the mind or transcendence through the heart/devotion lead to the same Truth, the path of the mind seems to be intellectually arduous and requires deep self-inquiry and constant observation of the mind’s misleading traps. The main obstacle that arises with embarking on the quest of enlightenment through mastery of the mind is the development and investment into the intellect as being valuable and reliable. As the intellect becomes strengthened, logic and reason dominate all aspects of life and the mind and its abilities seem to be the source of all power. However, quite …

Insight from The Tree of Life

Insight from the Tree of Life

Terrence Malick delivers yet another profound masterpiece with The Tree of Life that offers an inspiring look into human development, parenting, philosophy, religion, grief and death, karma, spirituality, and God. The movie stars Sean Penn (adult Jack), Brad Pitt (Mr. O’Brien), Jessica Chastain (Mrs. O’Brien), and Hunter McCracken (young Jack). The story is essentially about a family of three boys with a former Navy officer father (representing the way of nature) and a kind, loving mother (representing the way of grace). Furthermore, it clearly depicts a son’s fall from innocence into shame as disappointment and rejection are constantly projected onto him …

Our Spiritual Evolution

The Evolution of Consciousness - The evolution of life, God embodied, reflected, and projected

Our Spiritual Evolution     Ever wonder why recurrent types of situations or issues keep arising in our lives no matter how many external things change it seems that there are similar issues that just keep coming back in differing forms? Well, throughout our spiritual evolution we will notice that there are distinct themes that are prevalent and serve as reflections of what our soul, or consciousness, is currently working to transcend and heal through acceptance and forgiveness. By accepting our current inner resistance and forgiving what they represent for us we can move into an expanded awareness of love. …

Identifying and Understanding Ego Attachments

Identifying and understanding attachments and limiting beliefs

In light of the recent redefining of the ego, let us discuss the ego’s proclivities and methods of attachment that are the root of all human suffering. As a reminder, the use of the term ego is referring to our sense of identity that was formed through our identification with beliefs, opinions, thought patterns, context for who and what we think we are, and our overall attachments to ‘me’. All Truth is Relative For starters we must clarify that all truth is relative to the the level of understanding from which it is arising and therefore applicable to. For example, to …

The Many Faces of the Ego

The Faces of the Ego - The many masks of limiting beliefs and identities

With the return to writing the first thing that I’d like to revisit is the concept of the ego in hopes of solidifying a clear, working definition in order to facilitate the greatest comprehension. For starters, this is not the ‘ego’ as outlined in psychoanalysis by Freud and Jung but rather is a more spiritual perspective that is referring to a self-identity, ‘character script’ with its likes, dislikes, attractions and aversions, and attachments all of which we believe is who we are, the ‘me’ and ‘I’. This ego identity is formed within our consciousness and to best understand the ego we must …

Realization of Perfection

I had a profound realization the other day that really sunk deep into my consciousness and I wanted to share it in hopes that it might resonate with someone else out there and bring the intense level of peace that it brought me. It is a simple thought that I wrote down and I am grateful I did because it has brought amazing clarity to reflect on. This realization came to me amidst some relationship trouble I was having and I couldn’t seem to figure out where it was coming from. I was trying to trace my thoughts in hopes …

Ending Unhappiness in Our Lives

Realizing Unconditional Love and ending unhappiness in our lives

Another journal entry that I feel is important to share: Life is full of joy we just have to open our eyes and see it. Too often our perspective is limited, too often our view of things is closed off to greater possibilities. We tend to miss the point and miss the true beauty behind everything by immediately jumping to conclusions/judgments of failure, lack, or error. But there is such amazing light behind and under all things that we can see if we choose to have an open mind and see that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. As …

Understanding the Power of the Mind

To begin lets think of some questions from observation of life… Why is one man sad and another man happy? Why is one man joyous, successful, and full of love for life and another man poor and miserable? Why is one man fearful and anxious and another full of faith and confidence? Why does one man have a beautiful, luxurious home while another man lives out a meager existence in a slum? Why is one man a great success and another an abject failure? Why is one speaker outstanding and immensely popular and another mediocre and unpopular? Why is one …

All Love is Within

This is a continuation of journal entries: So the trick is to remember that all we have to do is turn within, all we have to do is be filled with love and joy and everything else will come to us and fall into place. And in fact, the happier and stronger sense of all these radiant, Godly, qualities that we embody the faster things will come to us. Conveniently, thoughts and feelings more aligned with unconditional love and positivity are far more powerful and stronger than thoughts of fear and negativity. So in other words the more in line …

Understanding Personal Growth and the Ego

The ego is the term used by Psychologists and others to describe a process of thinking. It is all thinking that produces three main thoughts, powerlessness, separation, and lack. Which ultimately amounts to fear. Ego thinking is fear. That’s it, it is every thought that gives you some sense of fear no matter how big or small. But with all our advancement and education today there should be no reason to continue this thinking, in fact there never really is/was. This way of thinking is a remnant of our evolution. From a Biblical standpoint it is the way of thinking …

World Peace is Possible

I’d like to start this post off with an amazing speech that was given after learning of the death of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 by Robert Kennedy (click on the title if you’d like to listen to it be delivered, Bobby is an inspiring orator) “Mindless Menace of Violence” “This is a time of shame and sorrow. It is not a day for politics. I have saved this one opportunity, my only event of today, to speak briefly to you about the mindless menace of violence in America which again stains our land and every one of our …
